After Rajasthan , Gujarat Bans Padmaavat Movie
Soon after Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Decided to ban Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat , her counterpart Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced on Friday (12-01-2018) that the controversial movie will not hit the screens in his state
The movie which went through a lot of controversies was finally certified by Central Board of Film Certification for screening and was set to release on January 25
Over 100 activists of the Rajasthan- based Karni Sena were detained in mumbai and Haji Ali while protesting against the clearance given to Bhansali’s film which was earlier titled Padmavati.
The Rajput Karni Sena on January 10, reiterated its demand for a “complete ban” on the film. Karni Sena leader Lokendra Singh Kalvi alleged that history was being tinkered with and there was no room for a compromise with the filmmakers on the issue.
He claimed that six states have announced a ban on the movie. “I will hold discussions with Delhi government in this regard.”
