A 21 Year Old Manali Girl Aanchal Thakur Creates History by Bringing Home India’s First Skiing Medal after winning a Bronze Medal at the prestigious Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) — skiing’s international governing body — at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey

She On Her Twitter handle said ” Finally something unexpected happened. My first ever international medal” Federation International Ski Race (FIS). At the end turkey served me well”

Narendra Modi congratulated her on twitter and said “The entire nation is ecstatic on your historic accomplishment at the FIS International Skiing Competition in Turkey”

Aanchal’s father Roshan Thakur who is also secretary general of the Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI), was elated as one would expect, and said “This is a breakthrough for the sport in India and the entire skiing fraternity is proud of her achievement.”
